The position is supported by a European Commissions Horizon 2020 ICT funded project, Mikelangelo (it’s obvious — right? it’s appearing on this page…).
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant that will work as part of a team headed by Dr. Niv Gilboa and Dr. Gabriel Scalosub, on research targeted at providing secure solutions to low-overhead I/O architectures in virtualized environments. These focus primarily on techniques for supporting secure co-location, while minimizing performance sideffects, and will also combine cloud-level considerations including VM-placement and inter-VM communications.
The work will be contributing to major open source projects in this domain, including KVM and OpenStack.
A potential candidate should have strong background in at least one (and preferably more than one) of the following topics:
  • system security
  • networking
  • optimization
Candidates are expected to have excellent coding abilities and extensive knowledge of Linux kernel- and network- programming.
In order to apply the candidate much have a PhD in a closely related topic (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, or Communication Engineering, etc.), with excellent communication skills (in English), and the ability to work in a team. A proven publication track-record in top conferences/journals is required.
The position is available immediately, and the appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. Salary will be competitive, and commensurate with experience. Candidate evaluation will take place until the position is filled.
